Ayush Tara is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Chemistry, Bar-Ilan Institute for Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials, Bar-Ilan University since June 2025.

He completed his B.Sc. in Physics at the University of Jammu, India, in 2016 and obtained a M.Sc. degree in Electronics at the University of Jammu, India, in 2018 under the supervision of Prof. Praveen Lehana. Further, he joined the group of Dr. Rockey Gupta at Department of Electronics, University of Jammu, India for his Ph.D.

During his PhD tenure, he also acted as Co-PI and worked at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay for the work related to his thesis. Also, he was awarded with prestigious Indo-German Industrial Fellowship under which he joined the lab of Prof. Eva Unger in Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin, Germany, for the period of six months. During the fellowship tenure, he worked on the development of low-bandgap perovskite solar cells by scalable inkjet printing. He got his Ph.D. in Electronics in 2024 with the research focus in perovskite photovoltaics and obtaining in-depth knowledge on thin film semiconductors, organic/inorganic perovskites synthesis, and its deposition through conventional spin coating as well as scalable deposition methods like slot die coating and inkjet printing.

Post Ph.D., he worked as a Junior Research Fellow at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India, and worked on the interfacial engineering of triple cation perovskite based solar cells. Afterwards, He joined the Multinary Material Systems for Energy and Sustainability group of Dr. Hannah-Noa Barad as Postdoc Fellow.

His work mainly involved the development of the contact and buffer layers for the designing of scalable and stable perovskite solar cells. He also enthusiastic in working with the combinatorial hybrid perovskite materials.
